‘I can’t breathe in this city’: inaction over Delhi’s suffocating pollution sparks rare protest

But at a rare protest anger and frustration were rife</p><p>As a <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/oct/21/delhi-awakes-toxic-haze-diwali-pollution-season-begins">familiar smoky evening haze</a> gathered over Delhi, the crowd began to assemble in their hundreds.
