Originally the governing body had projected $11bn in earnings. Sources have indicated that hospitality and <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/football/2025/oct/11/fifa-2026-world-cup-tickets-dynamic-pricing-nft-resale">ticketing</a>, especially through the steeply priced secondary market, account for a significant amount of the increase.
